GenAI technology has been under regulatory scrutiny, particularly in the realms of safety, tort liability, intellectual property law, and competition law. The presentation will map out the main aspects and linkages between these evolving regulatory frameworks, focusing on the developments in the EU. In a broader context, it will reflect on the forces shaping the direction, pace, and the qualitative dimensions of innovation in the field of GenAI—as well as innovation enabled through GenAI—and policy dilemmas arising in this regard.
