Max Planck Law Race and Social Justice Initiative is hosting its second virtual reading group of 2023, where we will discuss the German ‘General Equal Treatment Act’ (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz) of 2006. This event is especially designed for those who are less familiar with German and EU law, although all are welcome to join us! Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory will present on the background to the law, followed by a general discussion about its recent history and effectiveness in tackling discrimination in Germany.
