We are delighted to announce that Daniela Dora has joined Max Planck Law this July as our new Alumni Relations Manager. This appointment is a key step in developing our alumni strategy.
Daniela brings a wealth of academic and professional experience to this position. For the past six years, she served as a DAAD lecturer at the University of Cambridge, where she also gained valuable experience in alumni-related work as well as in organizing professional networks.
A literary scholar specializing in German literature, Daniela is currently completing a PhD at Ghent University. Her research has evolved to become increasingly interdisciplinary, focusing on Environmental Humanities with a special interest in cultural production and climate as well as social justice. This broad perspective will be invaluable in her role at Max Planck Law.
We sat down with Daniela Dora to learn more about her vision for the role:
What excites you most about this position?
‘I’m thrilled about the opportunity to build connections between our alumni and current researchers. There’s so much potential for mutual benefit and growth. Plus, I’m excited to bring my passion for sustainability, diversity, and inclusivity to this role.’
How do you see your academic background influencing your approach to alumni relations?

‘My first focus will be on data collection and setting up our alumni database. This is crucial for effective outreach and engagement.’
How do you see alumni benefiting from increased engagement?
‘Alumni will have opportunities for networking, staying connected with research, and making a difference through mentoring. We also want to provide a continued sense of identity with the Max Planck Law community.’
Do you have a message for our alumni?
‘I’m looking forward to connecting with you all! Your experiences and insights are invaluable to our community. Let’s work together to create a vibrant, supportive, and inclusive network that can make a positive impact in the legal world and beyond.’
