We are pleased to announce that the new Max Planck Law website has been awarded a Special Mention in the category of Excellent Communications Design (subcategory Web) at the 2023 German Design Awards.
The German Design Award sets international standards for the most innovative developments in design and competitiveness on the global market. It exclusively awards projects that are groundbreaking in the German and international design landscape. The award is decided by an independent international jury of experts, made up of representatives from industry, universities, and design, and is conferred by the German Design Council, which was established as a foundation by the German Bundestag in 1953.
In being awarded a Special Mention, the jury recognized that the Max Planck Law website successfully implemented certain aspects required for excellence in communications design. Emphasis was placed on the preservation of the underlying Max Planck Society identity, while simultaneously implementing a fresh and contemporary redesign that maximized the potential of the house font, responsive adaptations, a new key visual (which virtually and interactively brought together Institutes located in different parts of Germany and Luxembourg), etc.
The award brings to a very satisfying conclusion the immense work in concept and design that was required to build a state-of-the-art website that communicates, amongst other things, the uniqueness of Max Planck Law as a network of Institutes; the excellence of its collective research; its academic opportunities; and its myriad collaborations, cooperations, and events.
